8:00am - 12:00pm Amateur Radio Exams - W.C.A.R.S. VE Testing
Jacob Beam Room

Signups begin at 8:00am. Testing is from 9:00am - Noon. Walk-in accepted.

You Must Bring the Following:

  • $10 Fee - Exact Amount - Cash Only

  • A Valid Picture ID (Driver's License, etc.)

  • FCC Registration Number (FRN) and Valid Email

  • Your Original and One Copy of Your Ham License and/or Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE)

8:00am - 2:00pm Scouts Radio Merit Badge Class

Isaac W. Bernheim Room

  • Scouts are invited to earn their Radio Merit Badge and learn about Amateur Radio in this exciting class.

  • To reserve a spot for the Merit Badge Class, email Steven Driver N9BWT or signup online.

  • Free Complementary Scout Admission Tickets* for Scouts and Scouters (leaders) at the Inside Ticket Booth. 

  • Free Complementary Scout Parent/Guardian Ticket* for up to two parents/guardians with each Scout to browse the hamfest, events and use the concession stand while the Scouts are in the Radio Merit Badge Class.

*Tickets not eligible for prize drawings. Prize Tickets may be purchased for $2 each at the Prize Booth.

8:30am - 12:30pm Door Prize Drawings- Every 30 Minutes
Salt River Expo Hall, Prize Booth

Drawings throughout the day. You must be present to claim a Door Prize.

8:45am Award Presentation: 2024 Kentucky Amateur of the Year
Salt River Expo Hall by the the ARRL Booth

The award will be presented to the Radio Amateur in the Commonwealth of Kentucky whose outstanding record, in the year preceding, merits recognition for contribution to the Amateur Radio Service.

1:00pm Major Prize Drawings

Salt River Expo Hall, Prize Booth

You do not need to be present for Major Prize drawings, but it's nice to be there to take one home if you're a winner.
